Welcome to our 2025 Wedding Guide. Here, you'll learn more about the reason we shoot and get answers to your biggest questions. After you have had a chance to review everything here, we would love to schedule an in-person or virtual meeting to learn a little more about you and your fiance´. A great working relationship (which almost always turns into friendship that lasts long past your wedding day) and vision compatibility are important components for a beautiful gallery and positive experience. For these reasons we aim to "meet" with every couple before they sign their contract. This guide certainly isn't a substitute for that meeting, but we understand how valuable your time is and how many decisions you have to make during the upcoming weeks.
We look forward to hearing from you soon!
A wedding is a whirlwind of events, gone in the blink of an eye. There are few things more important to a perfectly executed event than an organized timeline. If you are looking to effectively plan out your wedding day with your wedding planner or fiancé, here’s a look at a typical wedding photo timeline from our point of view. We are here to help assist you in planning out your day so that you don’t miss a beat and we don't miss a moment.
TIMELINE
The bride’s hair and makeup should be well underway to leave plenty of time for family and couple photos. Most of the bridesmaids should already have their makeup done, and they are now helping to keep the day fun and flowing smoothly.
The guys may be hanging out or grabbing a meal, but aren't expected to be in their suite yet.

I arrive at the bridal site to photograph the bride's details, including: her dress, shoes, jewelry, and any other special items you have set aside. Someone will also be capturing the finishing touches of hair and makeup, before the bride gets dressed.
The guys should be heading to their suite at this time.

As the bride finishes getting dressed and gets all of her details on, the groom and his groomsmen will get dressed also.
Before we arrive, we ask that the guys get dressed, but that that the groom keep his jacket, tie, shoes, and any of his special details off, so that we can photograph him putting those things on.
If the bride and groom want to exchange any special gifts, now is the perfect time.

If you and your fiance´ have decided to share a special moment with one another before the ceremony, now is the time for the first look. This will be a private time between the two of you, so the rest of the wedding party will be asked to stay in their suites.
Not sure if you want to have a first look? Be sure to read about the benefits, in that section.

If you did have a first look, we will also capture portraits of you and your fiance´, and the entire wedding party. You will also have the option to have your immediate family portraits at this time.

It's almost time! Your photography team will head to the ceremony site to set-up and capture the details before the guests arrive. During this time, you should have a quick refreshment, the bride can touch up her makeup, and you both can enjoy a few minutes of quiet time before you exchange your vows.

THE DETAILS
All of those little details you've dreamed of, pinned, and planned for since you got engaged are what will make your day special. Most of those details won't last past the end of the night: the cake will be enjoyed, the monogrammed napkins will be used, and the flowers will eventually wilt. Fortunately, along with your love and happy memories, you'll have images of the intricacies that made your day unique.

Few couples realize how little time they will have with one another on their wedding day. You get ready and are photographed with your wedding party apart, you exchange your vows in front of your family and friends, then you party the night away with your guests. A first look gives you that moment together... a moment that isn't about any one else. A moment that isn't even about pictures, as we will give you as much space and time together as possible.
This is the #1 reason couples choose to have a first look.
A bride and groom seeing one another before the ceremony has become quite a common practice, but too often couples only consider the logistical benefits of having a majority of their portraits taken before the ceremony and not the emotional perks. Now, don't get me wrong... it is far less stressful for everyone (you, your family, the wedding party, the planner... me) to have those pictures out of the way in a timeframe that we set-aside, rather than packed into 45 minutes after the ceremony. But, there are so many other reasons to consider a first look. Here are a few of my favorite reasons with words from real brides.
FIRST LOOK
One of my favorite parts of my wedding day was our first look. It gave us a minute away from the craziness of a wedding day and focus on what brought us to this moment, our love for each other.
-Brittany T.
Simply put, it was the only part of the day that was only for us until we left the reception. We didn't have to worry about anyone or anything else in that moment. We forgot about the photos that were being taken and read our vows to each other and it was absolutely perfect. I will always treasure that moment.

Wedding days can be hectic and emotions can run high, even if you are normally very relaxed. Couples who see one another before the ceremony always say that they felt more calm afterwards.
And ladies, you will look beautiful, for sure.. but it always special to hear him say those words to you.

I was a ball of nerves and the first look settled me. We had that last moment to connect. Somehow, it actually made the walk down the aisle even more exciting and intentional.
-Kellie C.
Everyone is going to tell you how beautiful you look in your wedding day but no opinion mattered more to me than my future husband. After not seeing each other the night before up until a couple of hours before the wedding, it was a special moment of quality time that I'd recommend to everyone.

The biggest concern about first looks is that it will ruin the traditional moment, when the bride walks down the aisle. Here is the thing about grooms -- they are sometimes hesitant to show emotion in front of 200 guests (and if you're not having an "unplugged" ceremony, all of their phones for social media.) Grooms seem to be more genuine when it's just the two of you and then emotional again at the alter because they're more at ease and able to really soak in that moment. I often recommend for brides who are wearing a veil to save it for their walk down the aisle, so that it will feel like he's seeing you for the first time, again.
